I received word today that Multiply is ceasing social network services (blogs, photo albums, etc.) in favor of merchant services, beginning December 1 this year. I feel a little bad about it, since I just paid for a year’s renewal a few months ago.
I am so glad that I had the foresight to create two mirrors for my Personal Geographic blog – WordPress and Blogger. From this point forward I will be using WordPress as my primary default blog, keeping Blogger as my mirror. I will be spending some time fixing old links to photographs and photo albums in my old blog entries. I have no idea yet where to migrate my Multiply photo albums, so I’ll be taking a look around.
I’m just sad that I’ve lost all the comments and interaction from my original old posts. Never mind – starting from a clean slate here. Having been able to save my old content is good enough 🙂 Cheers!
